Joya: flujo / Annie Edwards / 2026
Meet Annie Edwards, Founder of Joya: flujo, a London-based artist, lecturer and curator working across installation and performance. Her practice combines robotic figurative sculptures with abstracted skeletal forms to investigate embodiment, control and lived experience. Her practice explores the tension between body and machine, alongside domestic, medical and industrial systems of control. At Joya, Annie developed automated mechanisms examining human agency, mechanical precision, failure and absurdist humour. Working with contrasting flesh-like and rigid materials, Annie explored ideas of perfection, discipline and bodily judgement, using the grotesque and abject to challenge conventional ideas of beauty, functionality and autonomy and agency.
