Joya: residency coordinator / Kamil Duda / 2026
Kamil Duda (2003) is a Polish multidisciplinary artist raised and based in Salford, UK. Duda approaches art through the lens of care and radical critique, exercising the role of a 'spectre' to tend to imbalances and inequalities operating at both local and global scales. While sculpture forms the core of his practice, performative investigations coexist with sustained engagement in anarchist theory, critical writing and conversations with place. As a Residency Coordinator at Joya, Kamil Duda helps support resident artists and the shared practical life of the programme. The role places him within the everyday structures that sustain a cultural organisation; from coordinating residency activities and supporting artistic exchange to contributing to Joya’s collective, artistic and ecological work. This experience connects closely with his interest in how communities and alternative institutions can operate through collective forms of organising and shared responsibility, while giving him time to develop his own practice in relation to Joya’s social and ecological environment.
