Joya: AiR is a landmark international, interdisciplinary arts residency grounded in the intersection of creative practice, ecological inquiry, and sustainable cultural engagement. Situated within an off‑grid, climate‑positive environment in rural Andalucía, the residency fosters an intellectually rigorous and generative context where artists, writers, and researchers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds can deepen their practice, expand critical perspectives, and engage collaboratively with ecological and cultural challenges. 

At its core, Joya: AiR is designed to facilitate sustained creative inquiry through extended periods of reflection, experimentation, and place‑responsive practice. The residency emphasises the mutual shaping of artistic research and environmental context, inviting participants to interrogate prevailing human‑nature relations, reconsider notions of ecological stewardship, and contribute to the development of sustainable cultural futures. 

Through a combination of individual studio work, interdisciplinary exchange, and site‑based engagement, this residency cultivates a global network of practitioners whose work resonates with and critically responds to the ecological complexities of the contemporary moment. Embedded within a broader field research centre (Joya: arte + ecología), Joya: AiR aligns cultural production with ecological regeneration, fostering collaborations that bridge artistic inquiry, environmental research, and community engagement.
